How To Schedule Content

Blog Posts

To schedule a blog post to be published to your blog, click the link which will be green and will also be the current day's date. The Select Date window opens which includes a calendar where you'll choose the specific date and time for the post to appear on your blog. Use the arrows beside the month to change the month and the arrows beside the year to change the year. Click the appropriate date and your selection will be highlighted. Next choose the time of day you wish the post to be published by using the drop down list in the bottom left corner of the Select Date window. Once you've chosen your date simply click OK in the bottom right corner of the Select Date window.

Media Posts

To schedule a media item to be published to your site, click the link which will be green and will also be the current day's date. The Select Date window opens which includes a calendar where you'll choose the specific date and time for the media item to appear on your site. Use the arrows beside the month to change the month and the arrows beside the year to change the year. Click the appropriate date and your selection will be highlighted. Next choose the time of day you wish the post to be published by using the drop down list in the bottom left corner of the Select Date window. Once you've chosen your date simply click OK in the bottom right corner of the Select Date window.

Calendar Events

To schedule a calendar event you'll first add a new calendar and save. Next you'll click the button that reads New Event. The event must have a title in order to save. Once titled you'll notice the schedule section below the Date field. The Date field will by default include the current date. Click inside the Date field and you'll see a 30 day calendar open just like the Blog scheduler and the Media scheduler. Use the arrows to select the appropriate day, month, and year and click OK. Now you are ready to schedule the event. If the event is just one day select the radio button that reads Once. Click Publish and you're event will appear on your calendar. If your event recurs then select the appropriate time interval Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Yearly, select the necessary options within each time interval, and select whether the event stops at a particular date using the Repeat Until option or should the event recur forever select the Repeat Forever option.

Examples for each time interval

Daily

The youth have a summer camp. They have a trip planned in the summer for a week long. July 8th 2013 through July 12th 2013. The way this would be scheduled would be to include July 8th 2013 for the original date. The select Daily as the time interval. Since the event is going to happen every day that week you'll leave the default value of 1 in the Every _ Day field. Select the Repeat Until option, click the date field, and then select July 12th 2013.

Weekly

Your Sunday morning worship service needs to be scheduled. Click the Date field and select the next appropriate Sunday. For the schedule time interval select Weekly. Check the box for Sunday and click the radio button for Repeat Forever. You've not placed your Sunday morning worship on the calendar.

Monthly

Your church leadership has a meeting every month on the last Sunday of each month. Select the first appropriate last Sunday in the date field. Next for the schedule select Monthly. Use the radio button for the 3rd option that reads to schedule On the _ _. In this case you'll select Last for the first drop down and Sunday for the second drop down. Click the radio button for Repeat Forever and you've now scheduled your monthly leadership meeting.

Yearly

The children put on a Christmas play every year. It is scheduled for the 3rd Sunday every December. To schedule this select the 3rd Sunday in December for the Date. Then click the Yearly schedule button. Select the radio button for the 3rd option that reads On the _ _ of _. You'll select 3rd for the first drop down, Sunday for the next drop down, and December for the last drop down. Select the radio button for Repeat Forever.
