Preferences

Site Name

This field helps us both identify this site on your invoices and in your site list. It is also used in place of a logo in your Web site and print projects if Web or print logos are not provided on the Branding tab mentioned below.

Web Address

When your site was created, a temporary web address was chosen that can be used to access your site on the Web until your domain name is added to the system before officially launching your site. The option selected here is automatically inserted into your print projects.

Formatting

This field changes how dates and numbers are formatted on your site.

Timezone

This field adjusts server dates and times to your organization's local time so that scheduled items are sent at the right time and date and time labels are written out with the appropriate time.

In addition, the system automatically creates an hcard/vcard that allows site visitors with microformat browser capabilities or plugins to easily add you to their contact list.

Branding

Don't know what an SVG, PNG or ICO is? Don't worry. We'll make our best effort to create these files from the graphics you provide during the personalization process that is included with every order. Since we like to know how things work, we decided to show you how just in case you couldn't wait.

Print Logo

What Is It?

This is a drawing file in SVG (Scalable Vector Graphic) format that is used to blend your organization's logo into your print projects.

Why Do I Need One?

A custom print logo helps you build your brand by displaying your visual identity on all of your print projects. (Bonus: all of the other custom files can be created from an SVG.)

Don't Have an SVG File?

  • Look to see if your organization may already have a drawing file of your logo. Ask around for a copy of the files provided by your logo designer and look for files with one of the following file format extensions (.svg, .ai or .fh*).
  • Ask the designer that created your logo for a copy of your logo in SVG or one of the other drawing formats mentioned above.
  • Convert another drawing file to SVG using a drawing program like Inkscape or an online converter like Online-Convert.com if you cannot obtain an SVG file using the previous methods.
  • Fake It as a last resort. You can use a drawing program like Inkscape to import and trace a picture file (.tiff, .bmp, .png, .jpg, .gif, etc.) though this is not quite as easy or simple as it may sound so try to obtain it using one of the previous methods for the best result.

Web Logo

What Is It?

This is a picture file in PNG (Portable Network Graphic) format that is used to blend your organization's logo into your Web site.

Why Do I Need One?

A custom Web logo helps you build your brand by displaying your visual identity on every page of your Web site.

Don't Have a PNG File?

  1. Look to see if your organization may have already have a PNG logo file. Ask around for a copy of the files provided by your logo designer and look for files with the .png extension.
  2. Ask the designer that created your logo for a copy in PNG format.
  3. Convert the SVG file you obtained earlier by opening it in a drawing program like Inkscape and export it as a PNG.
  4. Fake It by opening a clean copy (one that has been edited or converted as little as possible) of your logo file in an image editor like Photoshop Elements (<$99), GIMP (free) or Pixlr (free) and remove the background by following one of the many tutorials on the Web. When you're finished, save the file in PNG format being sure to preserve the transparent background property.

Mobile Touch Icon

What Is It?

This is a square image that displays on mobile devices when visitors save a bookmark to your site on their home screen. You will notice that many mobile devices actually display the image with rounded corners, however your original image should be square as this treatment is applied by the device itself.

Why Do I Need One?

A custom mobile icon helps you build your brand by visually associating your site with your brand on mobile devices.

Don't Have a Mobile Touch Icon?

  1. Open a clean copy (one that has been edited or converted as little as possible) of your logo file in an image editor like Photoshop, Gimp or Pixlr.
  2. Make a square selection of the most identifiable portion of your logo and copy it into a new document or crop the image down to square proportions. If the cropped image is larger than 144x144 pixels, resize it to 144x144 pixels; if it's smaller than 144 pixels, leave it as is. (We recommend 144 pixels because it is optimized for higher resolution screens, but consistently works across mobile devices.)
  3. Save the image as a PNG file. (This is the file format required by mobile devices.)

Favicon

What Is It?

This is a 16x16 pixel image that displays in visitors' browser address bars, tabs and bookmarks.

Why Do I Need One?

A custom favicon helps you build your brand by visually associating your site with your brand.

Don't Have a Favicon?

  1. Use an online generator like Favicon.cc or Iconifier.net to create a favicon.ico file from the Mobile Touch Icon you created earlier.
